Animal Welfare Board pays surprise visit to Kudroli slaughterhouse

Mangaluru: Animal Welfare Board member from Karnataka, Vinay Shetty, paid a surprise visit to the slaughterhouse at Kudroli on Thursday, June 25.
It is said that the department had received several complaints regarding the slaughterhouse that they did not maintain cleanliness and do not follow rules.
Vinay Shetty accompanied by the chairperson of city corporation health standing committee Poornima, veterinary doctor, and health inspector.
The team observed the blood of the animals slaughtered at the facility flowing through the drains reaches the river which results in environmental pollution
Also, the team said that it is the clear violation of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and Vinay Shetty will soon submit report to the concerned officials.
