Bengaluru: Minister for Revenue and Municipal Administration R Ashok has stated that hospital beds will be ready for a COVID-19 patient within 8 hours of the disease’s detection.
He added that presently, a COVID-19 patient has to wait for 24 to 48 hours to avail a bed at hospital for treatment.
Speaking after the chief ministers’ meeting, he said there is no lockdown in Bengaluru and the government does not intend to impose one. If the number of COVID-19 positive cases continues to increase, then bed and treatment arrangements will be made at the Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre and other places across the city. A blueprint is being planned to contain COVID-19.
Private hospitals have been ordered to reserve beds for COVID-19 patients and provide treatment to them. Refusal to treat COVID-19 patients will result in strict action, he added.
