Udupi: Sri Krishna Mutt’s unique Talamadale performance under lockdown

Udupi: For the first time the Sri Krishna Mutt’s Talamadale Yakshagana performance has taken place on a Saturday under the COVID-19-induced lockdown.
Only a handful of artists and audience were present. But the performance was broadcast online and reached hundreds of audiences. People even built stages to watch the online Talamadale in Uttara Kannada district.
Dr Shailaja Bhatt, from Manipal, organized the event in cooperation with the Paryaya Sri Adamaru Mutt. The artists presented the story of ‘Komalangi Kele.’
The event was inaugurated by Paryaya Sri Eshapriya Teertha Sripadaru and is the first cultural event to be conducted during the COVID-19-induced lockdown.
Sri Narahari Teertha of the Adamaru Mutt speaking on the occasion stated that the Talamadale performance is the first such event during these tough times that will create cultural and religious awareness among the masses. He prayed that such programs must continue now without any obstacles.
