Sirsi: One of the most popular file sharing app Share It from China now has a desi counterpart supposedly much faster than it.
Z Share has been installed by more than 5,000 smartphone users in less than 24 hours.
The app was developed by Shravan Hegde, son of a farmer from the Madnakal village in Siddapura taluk in Uttara Kannada district, in support of the Boycott Chinese Products movement.
Shravan (21) is a final year BCA student. Recently, he had developed a student app for the Karnataka University at Dharwad.
Shravan developed the Z Share app in Java and Kotlin programming languages and worked for 8-10 hours a day in developing the app.
After the app was released on Saturday (June 27) it was downloaded more that 5,00 times in less than 24 hours. Most of the downloads are being done by non resident Indians.
Shravan says that he chose the name ‘Z Share’ in a hurry thinking that being the last alphabet in the English language it will be easy to remember.
The app is free to download in the Google Playstore.
Since the launch of the app, Shravan has received a deluge of praises. He can be reached at 9611 464 225 for any help on the app or for any congratulatory messages.
