COVID-19: BMTC grants leave to employees aged over 50 years

Bengaluru: The BMTC officials have directed all the employees aged over 50 and those with ailments, apart from drivers and conductors on leave to ensure their safety amid the pandemic.
The circular by the BMTC stated that the advisory issued by the Union Health Ministry and stated that employees with ailments such as breathing problems, heart-related issues, diabetes, and kidney problems and those over 50 years can make use of the leave available in their accounts.
The circular further stated that those on probation will be granted leave not due or extraordinary leave based on the severity of their health problems.
Whereas trainee employees who do not have any leave available will go on leave without stipend while permanent employees.
