Create all-party review committee to monitor COVID-19 treatment: Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru: An all-party review committee should be formed to monitor complaints regarding COVID-19 treatment in the State. Professional leaders in the party as well as those with medical education should be included in the committee, Opposition leader Siddaramaiah has demanded.

He tweeted that there are allegations of negligence, discrimination and corruption in government hospitals dedicated to COVID-19 treatment. Those with political influence can survive but the poor are helpless. The Chief Minister should focus on this issue.

“Patients have the legal right to know in detail the treatment they are receiving. Patients are being left in the dark without being informed of the drug being given to them and the treatment that is being followed. Isn’t this unfair Mr Yediyurappa,” he added.

“Private hospitals who are willing to reduce treatment fees should be careful not to compromise on the quality of treatment. The government must be given full details of the medication and the treatment that is being followed,” he said.
