Jt letter to Regional Commissioner seeking security for Vijayapura Zilla Panchayat’s Cong members

Vijayapura: District Congress leaders have jointly written a letter to the Regional Commissioner of Belgaum, who is also the electoral officer for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat presidential elections, demanding that the members of the Congress be given proper security.
Former Minister Babaleshwara, MLA M B Patil, Basavana Bagewadi MLA Sivananda Patil, Indi Yashwantarayagowda Patil, MLCs Sunilgowda Patil and Prakash Rathore are the joint signatories of the letter.
Members of Congress have threats to their lives and must be provided security. There could be an attack on our members during the elections. The members are staying at the Legrandi Hotel in Vijayapur city. Security must be provided to them while they leave for the election and return to the hotel after voting, the letter states.
The Congress leaders have also appealed to Vijayapura District’s Deputy Commissioner.
