Sopore terror attack: Image of 3-year-old crying near grandfather’s blood-splattered body goes viral

Sopore: Heart-wrenching images of a 3-year-old boy crying besides the motionless body of his grandfather, killed in cross firing between security forces and militants went viral on social media.
The boy is seen nudging his grandfather in an effort to wake him unmindful of the reality that the latter was no more.
In the picture, the child, who had a miraculous escape, is seen sitting on the blood-splattered body of his grandfather.
Kashmir police also tweeted a photo of the child being carried to safety by a policeman. The tweet reads: “JKP #rescued a three years old boy from getting hit by bullets during #militant #attack in #Sopore.”
As a police party reached to the spot in Sopore, they rescued the boy and took him to a shelter. A police person carried the baby on his lap and took him away from the encounter site.
Yet another image shows a soldier crouching behind a structure calling on the boy to run for shelter and the boy walks away from the body.
Apart from the civilian, a CRPF personnel was also killed in the encounter while three other jawans were injured. The encounter broke out in Sopore town of Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.
