Mangaluru: Expressing his disapproval over the Centre’s decision to ban 59 Chinese mobile apps, Congress MLA U T Khader on Friday asked the government to refund the Rs 30 crore received in PM Care Fund through TikTok app.

Terming the Centre’s decision as a publicity stunt, Khader said, “The ban on Chinese apps is neither beneficial to India nor will it affect China’s interests. Rather, it has affected the Indian employees of these companies as well as those who earned money through these apps. India’s image has been dented globally because of this sudden decision.”

Speaking about the Ballari incident where Covid19 victims were denied a decent burial, Khader said that no action has been taken against officials responsible for the lapse and demanded a state level inquiry.

Amid the rising number of cases, Khader said the death toll could increase further and hence government should identify burial sites for Covid 19 victims to conduct last rites as per their faith.
