Vikas Dubey, the history-sheeter behind Kanpur firing that killed eight policemen, has at least 60 criminal cases filed against him that include murder, robberies and kidnappings
He became infamous after he allegedly killed BJP leader Santosh Shukla in Shivli police station in 2001. Shukla was minister of state in the UP government when he was killed.
In 2000, Vikas Dubey was accused of killing Siddeshwar Pandey, an assistant manager at Tarachand Inter College, located in Shivli police station area of Kanpur. The same year he was accused of conspiring in the murder case of Rambabu Yadav in Kanpur while being lodged in jail.
In 2018, he was accused of hatching a conspiracy to kill his cousin brother Anurag from Mati jail .Also, Dubey is accused in the murder of cable TV businessman Dinesh Dubey in 2004
Sources claim, Vikas Dubey has a hold over multiple political parties across lines and had also won the election of nagar panchayat in Shivrajpur while being lodged in jail.
A few days ago Kanpur Police team went to arrest Vikas Dubey as a case of attempt to murder was filed against him. Many JCB earthmoving vehicles were parked on the road, blocking police officials’ way in Bikaru village. The police team was forced to get down from their vehicle as the miscreants started firing on the police team.
