Gangavati: A COVID-19 positive woman at Murari Camp here walked 2 kilometres to admit herself to the designated COVID-19 hospital.
The 33-year-old woman’s husband was called by officials from the hospital and told that if the ambulance comes to your house then locals might get upset and might create a ruckus with the ambulance staff, so please come to the hospital yourself.
The husband speaking to Udayavani said that his wife walked the 2 kilometres to the hospital as she also refused to take an autorickshaw as that would trouble others.
Deputy Commissioner Suralkar Vikas Kishore said that it’s was wrong for the woman to have walked to the hospital to get admitted. All positive patients should be taken in an ambulance and hospitalized. We will probe the incident.
Locals are outraged over the callousness and neglect of the hospital officials.
