Srinivas Poojary hands over Rs 5 lakh cheque to kin of Gurupura landslide victims

Mangaluru: District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary on Monday, July 6 handed over the cheque of Rs 5 lakh to each of the families of the two children who died in a landslide at Gurupur’s Banglagudde.
The two children who were trapped under debris following a landslide, triggered by heavy rainfall have died.
Safwan (16) and Sahala (10) are the deceased children.
Following the incident, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa had announced Rs 5 lakh compensation to each of the families of the two children.
District Commissioner Sindhu Roopesh, MLA Umanath Kotian were also present when Srinivas handed over the cheque.
