Ullal: 7-day old baby COVID-19 positive

Ullal: A seven-day-old baby at Kallapu in Permannur village, within Ullal town limits, has tested positive for COVID-19.

The baby’s mother, while pregnant, was admitted to a private hospital in the town on June 30. Her samples, which were sent for testing before the delivery, reported positive.

On July 8, the baby’s tests too reported positive for COVID-19.

Both the mother and child are now undergoing treatment in the designated COVID-19 hospital.

The woman and her husband are from Hunagunda taluk in Bagalkote district. Both husband and wife were working in a general store and residing at Kallapeena near Thokkotu.
