Govt COVID-19 testing lab inaugurated in Udupi

Udupi: Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary on inaugurated the new government COVID lab that commenced functioning in the district.
Speaking after inaugurating the lab Srinivas said, “In the beginning, Karnataka had only one testing lab and people in the district had to depend on Mangaluru, Hassan and Shivamogga districts for testing, but now the number of testing centers has increased. With this new lab, the numbers of testing labs have gone up to 82 now.”
Meanwhile, Deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha said, “All the government ambulances in the district have been installed with GPS to prevent delay. This is the first such facility in the district.”
Coastal Development Authority president Mattaru Rathnaker Hegde, MLA Lalaji R Mendon, district panchayat CEO Preethi Gehlot, district surgeon Dr Madhusudhan Nayak, DHO Dr Sudhir Chandra Sooda, COVID-19 district nodal officer Dr Prashanth Bhat, health department officials and others were present on the occasion.
