Belthangady: Tree fall causes traffic jam on Mangaluru-Chikkamagaluru road

Belthangady: Traffic on National Highway 73 Mangaluru-Chikkamagaluru road after a tree fall was reported near Somathadka on Thursday, July 9.
The theatre of the monsoon shifted from the coast to the hills of the Western Ghats as heavy rains saw the closure of major roads in the region after a tree was uprooted on Mangaluru-Chikkamagaluru road today morning at 6:45 am.
MLA Sunil Kumar, who was traveling to Bangaluruhad to wait for a long time for the traffic to clear.
The vehicular movement and electric supply for the local area was been disrupted after the treefall. Meanwhile, the authorities and removed the tree to facilitate vehicular movement.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, the number of vehicles was less and the it helped the vehicles to move the tree fast.
