Ayushman Bharat scheme covers Covid-19 treatment: DC Sindhu

Mangaluru: Amid rising cases of coronavirus in the district Deputy commissioner (DC) Sindhu B Rupesh in a circular stated that COVID-19 treatment is covered under Ayushman Bharat Arogya Karnataka scheme.
“Beneficiaries can avail coronavirus treatment under Ayushman Bharat scheme. People can avail the health card from the nearest service centre. There are over 240 service centres in Dakshina Kannada district. People must wear masks and maintain social distance while they are in the centres.
BPL cards beneficiaries are also eligible for free treatment up to Rs 5 lac under the scheme. APL card holders will be reimbursed up to 30 per cent of the treatment cost of the government package rate not exceeding Rs 1.5 lac per year. They can obtain treatment after they furnish their ration cards and Aadhaar cards.
The nearest government hospital, taluk and district hospital, government medical college Arogya Mitras and Arogya helpline 104 can be contacted for further details,” stated the circular.
