11 proud single Moms of Bollywood who challenged Social norms to raise their kids

Single moms often face difficulties,  social, financial or emotional pressures, but Indian film and television personalities have shown that single moms can also raise their child with full care and attention

Here are some of the strong and gorgeous single moms in Bollywood

Sushmita Sen

Sushmita Sen is an Indian film actress and former Miss Universe, who is also one of the bravest ladies of the country. She created history by adopting a girl child while still being single. In 2000, when she was 25 years old she brought Renee into her life. On 13 Jan, 2010 she adopted a three-month-old girl and named her Alisah.

Raveena Tandon

Before tying the knot with Anil Thadani, Raveena adopted two kids Pooja and Chhaya, as a single mother in 1995 when they were 11 and 8 years old, respectively. She was a proud single mom. After marriage, the couple are proud parents of total 4 kids

Pooja Bedi

Pooja Bedi is a former Bollywood actress who got married to Farhan Ebrahim, and had two kids Omar and Alia. Due to some problems and difference in opinions, they parted their ways and Pooja raised her children independently by herself.

Sarika

Sarika was in a live-in relationship with Kamal Haasan and gave birth to a baby girl named Shruti Haasan. After her birth, Sarika and Kamal married each other, but soon  after they got divorced. Sarika, single-handedly raised both her daughters, Shruti and Akshara

Neena Gupta

Neena Gupta, a renowned television and film personality, had an affair with Vivian Richards, West Indies cricketer and also had a daughter, Masaba. The two never got married, but she took a brave decision to give birth to her child and raised her.

Tanaaz Irani

Tanaaz is a television and movie celebrity. She got married to popular theatre artist Farid Currim and her first daughter Zianne was born when she was just 20.  But the couple divorced. Zianne stays with her father.

In 2006, she met actor Bhakhtyar Irani on the sets of Fame Gurukul, and they hit off instantly. She was a single mother when she married Bakhtiyaar Irani in 2007. The couple now has two kids

Neelima Azim

Neelima Azeem, actress got married thrice. She first got married to veteran actor Pankaj Kapoor in 1975 with whom she has a son, the famous Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor. The two got separated when Shahid was just three years old in 1984. She then married actor Rajesh Khattar in 1990 and gave birth to his son, Ishaan Khattar. But again, they separated in 2001. Later she got married to her childhood friend but things did not go well and they separated.

Kirron Kher

Kirron Kher got married to actor and businessman Gautam Berry and also had a son, Sikander. But, they soon got divorced.

Later, Anupam and Kirron met during a play called Chanadpuri Ki Champabai, and subsequently fell in love. They both got married and Anupam accepted Kirron’s son Sikander

Karisma Kapoor

Karisma was married to Sanjay Kapoor however, the marriage did not go well and the couple filed for divorce. Karisma has two kids, Samaira and Kiaan with Sanjay and is a proud single mother

Amrita Singh

Amrita got married to Saif Ali Khan and had two kids Sara and Ibrahim. But after 20 years, the couple separated and Amrita raised both the kids single handedly

Babita

Actress Babita married Randhir Kapoor and gave birth to Karisma and Kareena Kapoor. Due to her separation with Randhir, Babita had to take care of the two girls.
