Uttar Pradesh: Violators to write ‘mask lagana hai’ 500 times as punishment

Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad district administration has decided to make a person not wearing a face mask in public to write “mask lagana hai” (you must wear a mask)500 times as a punishment.

This is being called the mask ki class and will have a police official, an official of the district administration and a doctor present. Violators  will not face any police action but will be made to sit in the class for 3-4 hours.

Also, People in the class will be shown footage educating them about the benefits of wearing face masks in public, at the time of a pandemic.

The administration hopes that the move will encourage people to take necessary precautions.
