Puttur: Cricket match takes violent turn, 1 hospitalized

Puttur: A person was injured after a cricket match between youths took an ugly turn in Balnadu of the taluk on June 13 night.

The injured is identified as Savad, a resident of  Janata colony in Balnadu. He is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru.

As per sources, on July 12 the members of two teams who were playing cricket got into a fight over a petty reason, however, the locals stopped the fight. On July 13 night a person from the opposite team stabbed Savad with a cleaver knife which was kept in the meat shop nearby.

Puttur rural police have registered a case with this regard.
