Biggest single-day spike of 4169 Covid-19 cases in K’taka, 104 deaths in a day

Bengaluru: Karnataka reported the biggest single-day spike in coronavirus cases with 4169 new cases on Thursday, July 16 taking the tally of those infected rose to 51,422 in the state.

As many as 104 Covid-19 related deaths were reported in last 24 hours with 70 of them being reported from Bengaluru itself.

As on date, 19,729 patients have recovered. This includes 1263 discharges today. Presently 30,655 cases are active and of this 539 are admitted in the ICU. The death toll in the state stands at 1032.

Majority of cases were reported from Bengaluru 2344 cases followed by Dakshina Kannada 238, Dharwad – 176, Vijayapura – 144, Mysuru -130, Kalaburagi 123 cases. Udupi and Raichur too reported over 100 new cases.
