Mangaluru: A helpline has been started for asymptomatic COVID-19 patients being treated at home within all town and city local bodies in the district. The helpline has been set up under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh under the supervision of District’s Urban Development Cell.
The helpline will aid in the monitoring of COVID-19 patients treated at home and regularly receive and advice and guidance from physicians to patients.
Presently, asymptomatic patients at home are fewer in Sullia, Puttur and Moodabidri and more patients at Bantwal, Ullal and Someshwara.
Gayatri Nayak, Project Director at the District Urban Development Cell, said that as COVID-19 patients are fewer within city limits the helpline could be extended to entire taluks.
The helpline will be staffed with personnel from the municipal office and physicians who will receive patient health information via video call.
