Former Kundapur athlete dies of COVID-19 in Kuwait

Kundapura: Former athletics champion and famed kabaddi and volleyball player of Bhandarkar’s College from Karvikeri here has died in Kuwait on July 16.
He was employed at a company called KRH at Kuwait. He tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago after being admitted for more than 22 days in a hospital there for an illness. He died after failing to react to the treatment provided at the hospital.
His funeral was conducted in Kuwait.
He was a renowned athlete in Kundapur in the 80s and served as a coach for young players. He was earlier employed at UAE and had shifted to Kuwait a few years ago.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters, mother, brother and sisters.
