K’taka govt authorizes PDO to issue birth and death certificates

Bengaluru: The State government on Saturday, July 18 ordered that Panchayat Development Officers (PDO) will now be vested with the authority to issue birth and death certificates.
The PDOs will be issuing the certificates under the Registration of Births and Death Act, 1969 through their e-signature.
The order states that the Gram Panchayat and PDOs issue these certificates through the Bapuji Seva Kendras.
