Mangaluru: Dr Hrushikesh Pernadka, a yoga teacher in Singapore has won the second prize in the “My life my yoga” competition organized by the Ministry of AYUSH and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) launched on May 31 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the occasion of the 6th International Day of Yoga.
He won the prize in the country-level category (Singapore).
Dr Pernadka studied at the Department of Human Consciousness and Yogic Sciences, Mangalore University. He finished his doctorate at the university with his thesis “Assessment of the effect of yoga therapy on CD-4 counts and bodyweight of HIV-infected persons.”
He taught yoga at the Department of Yoga in the University College here in the city and has now been teaching yoga in Singapore for a year.
