K’taka: CET exam to be held as schedule; PGCET & Diploma CET postponed

Bengaluru: CET examinations will be held as per schedule on July 30 and 31 informed DyCM Ashwath Narayana.
The CET examinations will be held at the 497 centres at 127 places. A total of 1,94,356 students will take the exam, Narayana added.
Speaking at a news conference, he said the examinations will be held under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioners. SOP teams have already been created. All kinds of precautions will be taken, including thermal screening and masks. Examination centres will be sanitized two days in advance. Parents of students from outside the State will be exempted from restrictions.
Separate arrangements have been made for COVID-19 positive students. Ambulances and other emergency services will be present. There are 83 centres in Bengaluru where 40,200 students will be taking the examination, he added.
The admission dates for engineering, medical and dental courses will also be postponed due to delay in CET examination. We will make sure that no trouble comes to the students, he said.
1,891 students from outside the State will be coming to write the exams. They will appear for the exams in the border districts. 30 students from outside the country will also attend the examination, they have been notified a month ago.
PGCET and Diploma CET exams that were scheduled on August 8 and 9 have also been postponed Ashwath Narayan said.
