A Florida news reporter said she found out she had cancer after a viewer sent her an email expressing concern about a lump on her neck.

Investigative journalist Victoria Price who works with WFLA News in Tampa Bay in the United States realised she had a tumour.

It is said that she received an email from a viewer who pointed out that she had noticed a lump in Price’s throat.

The email read: Hi, just saw your news report. What concerned me is the lump on your neck. Please have your thyroid checked. Reminds me of my neck. Mine turned out to be cancer. Take care of yourself

When Price got herself checked, the lump turned out to be the result of a tumour. She took to social media to thank her viewers and inform them that she was having a surgery to get the tumour along with some lymph nodes removed.

Price wrote on twitter. “ A bit of ~personal news~ to share. Turns out, I have cancer. And I owe it to one of our wonderful @WFLA viewers for bringing it to my attention. I’ll be off work for a bit after tomorrow, but I’ll see y’all soon”
