Bengaluru: Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Siddaramaiah, has accused the BJP of becoming anti-democratic after its attempt to destabilize the Congress government in Rajasthan.
He was speaking at a protest rally organized by the KPCC here.
The Governor of Rajasthan is involved in the heinous scheme of the BJP. It is the duty of the Governor to act according to the decision of the Cabinet. But, he was acting like a central government puppet, he said.
He further stated the Governor of Rajasthan should immediately resign. The BJP is abusing all the institutions under the constitution including the Governor and the President’s office.
Earlier the BJP ousted the Madhya Pradesh government and now they are attempting to remove the Rajasthan government. If the BJP had any dignity, respect and morality they would not have done such things, Siddaramaiah said.
The Congress party is protesting across the country today to defend democracy and the Constitution. We are not engaging in any violence. We are protesting peacefully. The constitution gives us the right to protest injustice peacefully in a democratic system, he added.
