Bengaluru: Sandalwood filmmaker Yogaraj Bhat expressed his displeasure over the use of his poems and photos on social media for political gain.
During the last assembly elections, the director wrote a poem describing the political situation and the attitude of the leaders. The poem went viral on social media and many people appreciated the poem and even shared it across social media.
It is gathered that some political parties were willing to use Bhat’s name for their political gain and have been sharing his photos with their party symbols and leaders on social media.
In response to this, Yograj Bhat took to Facebook and wrote, “I am not a worshiper of politics. Political parties are simply using some of my poems and proverbs. That’s torturous. All Readers/viewers should not link me with any party and please respect and maintain my political detachment.”
“I have noticed that some people are using my photos with false statements which are not said by me. I understand only the language of cinema, I don’t know any left-right theories related to politics. Please ignore if you come across any such photos in the future,” he added.
