Orange Alert issued for coastal Karnataka; heavy rains forecasted till Aug 4

Bengaluru: Heavy downpour has been forecasted by the Indian Meteorological Department in the coastal districts of Karnataka from July 31 to August 4.
The department has stated that already the districts of Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Dakshina Kannada are experiencing winds at 50 kmph with sea wave above 3 metres in the Arabian Sea.
Furthermore, the department has issued yellow alert for the districts of Bagalkot, Bidar, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Chikmagalur, Hassan, Kodagu and Shivamogga districts.
