Sirsi: Elderly woman reunited with her home

Sirsi: In the wake of the widespread outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pandit Public Hospital here had to send the elderly living in their hospital from the past 5-6 years back to their homes.
The hospital as a humanitarian effort had been taking care of many elderly people who had admitted themselves to the hospital and had refused to go back home.
Hospital’s Medical Officer Dr Gajanan Bhat sought help from the chief of Sahaya Trust Satish Rama Shetty who along with his staff arrived at the hospital and helped the hospital in sending an elderly woman Kavitha back to her home.
The nurses, physicians and staff at the hospital had been taking care of the elderly people in the hospital for years. However, due to the COVID-19 situation it had become for them to provide for them and hence they had decided to send them back to their homes.
