Mangaluru: Government has decided to build a separate sports hostel for girls in the city at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore.

The present hostel could include around 50 students including boys and girls. But the new separate hostel is being built for girls only which can include 50 students.

The hostel is being constructed for girls to participate in sports activities and to facilitate better sports training. However, students of Dakshina Kannada are not very keen of the hostel facility as they prefer returning home after their training.
