Ahead of Bhumi Pujan, DK DC orders closure of liquor outlets

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr KV Rajendra has ordered the closure of liquor outlets in the city in view of the Bhumi Pujan at Ayodhya tomorrow (August 5).

As per the order, bars, wine shops and other liquor outlets will remain shut from 6 pm on Tuesday, August 4 to 6 am on Thursday, August 6.

The decision has been taken to avoid any untoward incidents. Meanwhile, prohibitory orders under Section 144 will come into force from 8 pm today (August 4) and will remain in force till 6 am on Thursday, August 6.
