Bengaluru: Just like there is an Aadhaar number for every Indian, 1.87 lakh cattles in Bengaluru will carry a unique 12-digit number.

Under the project of Information Network for Animal Productivity and Health (INAPH) of the union government, Bengaluru Rural district animal husbandry and veterinary sciences department has carried out the process of putting earrings to the cattle

The tag consists the cow’s biological details such as breed, age, sex, height and special body marks

It will  help the farmer to take his cattle for treatment at the local veterinary hospital and the authorities will also be able to track the movement of cattle

The department has an App through which all the information will be available on time to the owners on their mobile.
