Udupi: 38-year-old man nabbed for giving triple talaq to wife via Facebook

Udupi: A 38-year-old man was arrested by the Shirva police for allegedly sending triple talaq notice to his wife over Facebook.

The arrested has been identified as Sheikh Mohammed Saleem, a resident of Shirva. Saleem got married Swapnaz in 2010 and was living in Dammam in Saudi Arabia.

On October 3, 2019, he absconded to Mumbai with another woman, leaving behind his wife and daughter in Dammam. He later sent a voice message to his wife through his Facebook account, announcing triple talaq.

Swapnaz has now filed a complaint with the Shirva police in this regard from Saudi Arabia.

Based on her complaint the police arrested him when he came down to Shirva.
