K’taka COVID-19 update: 5985 new cases; 4670 discharges; 107 deaths on Aug 9

Bengaluru: 5,985 new cases of COVID-19 were reported from across the State on August 9, including that of the Health Minister B Sriramulu.
4,670 people were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the virus on the same day.
Additionally, 107 COVID-19 deaths were also reported in the day raising the total death count from the virus to 3,198 in the State.
Presently, the cumulative total cases of COVID-19 in the State stands at 1,78,087 of these 80,973 are active and undergoing treatment.
Bengaluru Urban district has again topped as the highest contributor of COVID-19 cases with 1,948 cases in the day.
Other districts with high cases include Mysuru (455), Ballari (380), Udupi (282), Belagavi (235), Raichur (202), Dharwad (196), Kalaburagi (194), Hassan (168), Davangere (158), Bagalkote, Shivamogga (both 149 each) and Dakshina Kannada (132).
