Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district administration has issued a set of rules for all the international passengers arriving at Mangaluru airport and have asked them to follow it mandatorily.

As per the order issued by the administration, passengers should have an active Indian local SIM.

“The passengers can use their own active local SIM if they have them or can ask relatives or family members to get an activated local SIM ready before their arrival. New SIM cards are also available at the airport so they can buy it there as well,” the order stated.

After activating the sim the passengers need to install, register, and active login in respect of the three apps, Aarogya Setu, Quarantine Watch, and Apthamitra.

The passengers have to keep their mobile phones and internet data continuously without any break as the administration would be monitoring their home quarantine, collect feedback and may contact the passengers anytime during the 14 days compulsory home quarantine period.

They need to follow social distance rules, wear masks, and sanitize regularly. They also must cooperate with the officials of the district administration for the free COVID-19 (RAT) test at the airport.

It has warned that violation of any of the above conditions and rules as well as home quarantine rules would expose them to the likelihood of being punished under section 51(b) of the Disaster Management Act 2005.
