How is India preparing for the 74th Independence Day amid Covid-19?

With the 74th Independence day just around the corner, government has taken a major decision regarding Independence Day parade programme amid Covid-19 pandemic
Here’s how India is preparing for the 74th Independence Day
According to TheQuint, The ceremony at Red Fort will consist of the presentation of a Guard of Honour by the Armed Forces and the Delhi Police to the prime minister.
It will be followed by National flag unfurling and PM’s speech. Tri-coloured balloons will be released to mark the end of the ceremony. There will be “at home” reception at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
The Delhi Police has prohibited the flying of ‘sub-conventional aerial platforms’ over the city until 15 August, due to security threats.
Military bands will not be performing live but their recorded show will be telecasted on August 15.
There will be no performances from school kids/ Only a few NCC cadets will be invited.
Also, this year, Covid-19 warriors including doctors, healthcare workers will be invited.
The 350 Delhi Police personnel who will be part of guard of honour, have been quarantined at the police colony in Delhi Cantonment.
Proper sanitization of Red fort will be done and those attending the programme will have to wear a mask
Chairs also will be placed in designated areas to ensure social distancing measures
On the other hand, State governments have been asked to avoid large congregations and also to use technology to webcast the celebrations.
