Smartphones are widely used by people all over the world which makes it a common target for online hackers. Hackers have multiple reasons and numerous ways to infect your gadgets.

Your phone can be hacked in various ways such as through public wifi, spy apps, phishing messages or emails etc.

Here’s how to know if your smartphone has been hacked

If your friends or family are receiving emails, text messages, from you that you did not send to them then it is likely that your phone might be hacked

Malware working in the background use more battery power and resources and can also cause your device to suffer from decreased performance

You may find a few apps in your phone which you do not remember installing. Also, existing apps might crash or fail to load

If you notice lots of pop-ups appearing on your screen, you probably have spyware or malware.

Tips to prevent your phone from being hacked

Download a mobile security app which alerts you of any malware or spyware

Don’t click on links you are unsure of.

Do not give your private details without verifying the source

Use an end-to-end encryption messaging service to protect your messages

Do not connect to random public WiFi
