#Kothmirisoppu trends after kin of B’luru riots accused claims her brother had gone to buy coriander leaves

Bengaluru: #Kothmirisoppu (coriander leaves) is trending on social media platform after kin of accused in the Bangaluru riots claimed that her brother is innocent had gone to buy coriander leaves when the mob attack took place in the city last week.
A legislator’s nephew made a derogatory comment on social media and irked by this a mob fight broke out near Congress MLA Akandasrinivas’s house last Tuesday.
While talking to a Kannada news channel the woman said that her brother owns a vegetable shop in that locality and had gone to buy coriander leaves for his shop at 1 am.
She further said that her brother is innocent and has not done any mistake and requested his release. “If they prove that my brother is guilty we will only hand him over to the police,” the woman added.
Following the woman’s claim many Kannada troll pages have created trolls on the issue which has now gone viral and #Kottamarisoppu is also trending on social media platforms.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa Monday said that a special investigation team (SIT) has been formed to probe the violence and mob attacks that took place in the city a week back followed an alleged derogatory comment by a legislator’s nephew.
“The SIT which has already been formed will investigate the matter. A team of three special prosecutors will be appointed for speedy trial of the cases. SIT will consider invoking Goonda Act if warranted,” he said.
