K’taka COVID-19 update: 6317 new cases; 7071 discharges; 115 deaths till midnight of Aug 16

Bengaluru: 6,317 new COVID-19 cases were reported across the State between the midnights of August 15 and 16.

In the same period, 7,071 discharges and 115 COVID-19-related deaths also occurred.

With this addition, the total cumulative COVID-19 cases in the State has risen to 2,33,283 out of which 80,643 are active. The total death count stands at 4,062.

Once again Bengaluru Urban district has emerged as the top contributor of COVID-19 cases to the State with 2,053 cases in the same period.

Other districts with high cases include Mysuru (597), Shivamogga (397), Ballari (319), Udupi (268), Hassan (250), Kalaburagi (211), Koppala (169), Davanagere (165), Dakshina Kannada (144), Tumakuru (130), Kolar (121), Raichur (110) and Vijayapura (106).
