Physician’s suicide case: CM Yeddiyurappa orders investigation, Rs 50 lakh compensation

Bengaluru: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has ordered an investigation in the suicide of Nanjangud’s Dr S R Nagendra and announced a compensation of Rs 50 lakhs to the physician’s family.

The CM ordered the probe on the request of the Karnataka Employees Union. The Mysuru Regional Commissioner will e investigating the case and submit the report within seven days.

Dr Nagendra had committed suicide on Thursday, August 20. Physicians and other staff had protested the whole night after the suicide alleging that the Zilla panchayat CEO abetted his suicide.
