Kasaragod: A 23-year-old youth drowned after a boat toppled in Chandragiri river near Perumbala on Saturday, August 22.
The deceased has been identified as Niyaz, a resident Perumbala.
It is gathered that Niyaz along with three of his friends went fishing in the river and the boat capsized while returning.
Niyaz drowned in the water while his three friends were managed to swim safely to the shore.
Vidyanagar police have registered a case with this regard.
