Mangaluru: The Adani Group which became the part-owner of the Mangaluru International Airport could be outsourcing the operations to a German company Flughafen München GmbH which also operates the airport in Munich, Germany.

The Adani Group had in July issued a tender for Operation & Maintenance contracts and had been in contact with many companies that operate airports worldwide.

Flughafen may get the contract to operate three airports that include Ahmedabad and Lucknow along with Mangaluru.

The Adani Group had bought stakes in 6 airports across the country in February after Central government decided to privatise them.

The contract with Flughafen entails management of the airport as well as hiring and training of the staff. The Group will also be entering contracts with about 40 companies for supplies and other essentials for the airports.
