Dakshina Kannada opens borders as Covid-19 restrictions ease

Mangaluru: Karnataka government on Monday, Aug 24 issued an order regarding the Covid-19 restrictions in the state. According to the new order issued by the government, passengers coming into Karnataka from other states need not undergo medical checks at the borders if they have no symptoms of Covid-19. Also, Dakshina Kannada district administration has decided to open all its borders for passengers

Speaking on the issue, Dr Rajendra K V, Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner (DC) said that as per the new orders, All the borders have been opened and passengers coming from other states need not undergo quarantine. However,those who go to other states from Karnataka will have to follow the rules prevailing in those states.

Also, Kerala government is still demanding for a pass to enter into the states. Hence, BJP will be leading a pass violation agitation at the district border on Tuesday, Aug 25. It is said that several BJP activists will enter Karnataka without passes and then return to Kerala.
