Deeply unfair to students: Environmental activist Greta Thunberg supports postponement of JEE, NEET exams

Teen environmental activist Greta Thunberg has voiced concern over the conduct of NEET 2020 and JEE Main 2020 entrance exams in India amid the pandemic.

Extending her support to the students seeking postponement of the exams, Greta said that it is unfair that students are being asked to appear for exams during the pandemic. She also mentioned that the students of India have been deeply impacted by the floods that hit states like Bihar and Assam, which cause mass destruction for the citizens.

“It’s deeply unfair that students of India are asked to sit national exams during the Covid-19 pandemic and while millions have also been impacted by the extreme floods. I stand with their call to #PostponeJEE_NEETinCOVID,” she tweeted.

The JEE Main 2020 entrance exam is scheduled to be held between September 1-6, while NEET 2020 is to be conducted on September 13.

Meanwhile How Dare You started trending on Twitter following Greta’s call for postponement of the entrance exams.

“This is all wrong. I shouldn’t be up here. I should be back in school, on the other side of the ocean. Yet you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you!” – Greta had said at UN sometime back.
