Hubballi: Minister for Sugar Shivaram Hebbar on Friday said that MLC H Vishwanath should not embarrass the BJP party by making controversial statements.
He was reacting to Vishwanath’s comments hailing Tipu Sultan as the son of the soil. The BJP in Karnataka has however termed the controversial 18th-century Mysuru ruler as a religious bigot.
Speaking to reporters here Hebbar said, “I do not know in what reference Vishwanath hailed Tipu Sultan. But after we joined BJP we must accept their ideology and principles. One must not make controversial statements and embarrass the party.”
Further, he said that he tried to contact Vishwanath on Thursday but he was not reachable.
“Every year there will be an excess amount of medicines in ESI hospitals. in my opinion, this should be given to needy and those who don’t possess ESI cards. However, to implement this, there are some legal hurdles. I will discuss this in the next meeting on September 4 and 5,” he added.
