Haveri: Hitting out at former chief minister Siddaramaiah for his remarks, Home Minister Bommai on Saturday said that the BJP government in state will ensure that the people of Karnataka won’t have to eat mud but doubted what the situation would be if Siddaramaiah-led government was in power.

Earlier Siddarmaiah had questioned state BJP government if the people of Karnataka should eat mud in case the Centre does not release GST funds.

“Such a situation won’t arise with BJP government in power. However, I do not know if people might have eaten mud, amid the coronavirus pandemic, if the Siddaramaiah-led government was ruling in the state,” said Bommai.

Terming Siddaramaiah as a senior politician, who has presented the most budgets in Karnataka, Bommai said instead of doing politics over the GST dues, the former chief minister must offer his advise to the government.

On the issue of drug mafia in the state, Bommai said that the state government has declared a war against drugs and efforts are being taken to eradicate the drug magia.
