Hassan: Man bludgeons homeless woman to death, has intercourse with dead body

Hassan: Police are on the lookout for an accused who allegedly killed a homeless woman and later had intercourse with her dead body here in Hassan.

The incident, which occurred on August 26 midnight near the Kannika Parameshwari Temple on Bengaluru-Mangaluru Road here was recorded in a surveillance camera, installed by a co-operative bank.

In the video, a man is seen approaching two homeless people sleeping on the pavement. He then picks up a cement block and drops it on the person sleeping on the right corner of the pavement and runs away.

The woman who sustained head injury can be seen writhing in pain and leaning against the wall located near her. The other person, who was sleeping on the pavement left the spot.

After some time, i.e around 12.42 am the accused returns to the spot to find that the woman is injured and tries to lift her up but she pushes him away. He then once again leaves the spot.

The assailant once again returned to the crime scene at 12.58 am to find the woman in a lying position. He assaults her yet again with the cement block and runs away only to return three minutes later.

By this time the woman is dead and the man has intercourse with her dead body.

Presently the police registered a case under section 302 (murder) and have formed two teams to nab the accused.
