Baby elephant’s naming ceremony held at Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala

Belthangady: Elephant Lakshmi of the Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala’s had given birth to a baby girl on July 1. On August 31, a naming ceremony for the baby was held in the holy place.

Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade initiated the ritual by giving the baby elephant Prasada and tying a bell around its neck.

The granddaughter of the Dharmadhikari, Manya, named the baby elephant as Shivani.

Mohandas Swamiji of Sridhama Manila honoured the elephant’s mahout Krishna.

Hemavathi V Heggade, D Harshendra Kumar, Supriya Harshendra Kumar, SDM Educational Institutions Secretary Dr B Yashovarma, Sonia Verma, Amit, Shraddha Amit, Veeru V Shetty, P Lakshminarayana Rao and other family members were present.
