Former President Pranab Mukherjee passes away

New Delhi: Pranab Mukherjee (84), the 13th President of India and former Finance Minister, died today (August 31).
Mukherjee had visited Army Research and Referral Hospital where he tested positive for COVID-19.
Later he underwent surgery to remove a large amount of blood that had clotted in his brain. His health became critical after the surgery and he was on a ventilator, the hospital informed.
However, Mukherjee’s health worsened and he died, hospital sources said.
